King County gives 1.2 Billion for unemployment payments in 2009

According to an Employment Security Department report on Wednesday, 470,231 Washington residents received unemployment funds to the tune of $3.967 billion. 2009 records show the highest payout in Washington state history due to extensions on payout time periods and record unemployment.
