Ways to prevent Food Spoilage

1. Order produce, meats, and dry goods from licensed vendors
2. Always have the chef check the quality of the products delivered-if the products are not fresh refuse to accept it
3. Inventory- make sure your inventory is done on a daily basis. Depending on the time of the year, you may need less, so order less
4. Expiration dates- All foods should be labeled with an expiration date.
5. Develop daily specials- This will help with food that may be close to expiration date, so your not losing money on products that are not sold.
6. Refrigeration unit- A daily check should be done on all refrigeration units. The temperature should not exceed 41 degrees.
